Born in Russia, Dr Max Leibenson graduated from the Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel, in 2004. He completed his Orthopaedic Training in 2010 in a major trauma referral centre in Beer Sheva, serving a population of one million people.
Dr Leibenson came to Australia with his wife, Dr Lilach Leibenson (O&G) and their three children in 2011, and was a Fellow in Lower Extremity Arthroplasty in Sydney in 2011. He has successfully obtained full fellowship of the Australian College of Surgeon (FRACS) and became a member of Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) in 2014.
Both Dr Max Leibenson and his wife reside in Tamworth, and intend to be a contributing part of the local community for many years to come.
Since his extensive training, Dr Leibenson has been practicing as an orthopaedic surgeon, providing services to the population of regional New South Wales. He moved to Tamworth with his family in 2016, and has been providing the highest quality of care to the community of Tamworth and the surrounding areas since.
Dr Max Leibenson participates in an on-call roster at Tamworth Regional Referral Hospital. Dr Leibenson is providing an ongoing mentorship to orthopaedic registrars and support to allied health personnel.
Dr Leibenson prides himself of very low incidence of complications, including infections, with careful foreplanning for surgery, meticulous surgical technique, and dedicated after-care resulting in many successful patient outcomes.
If surgery is required, patients can choose to proceed as private or self-funded through Tamara Hospital, or be placed on the waiting list as a public patient at Tamworth Regional Referral Hospital. Dr Max Leibenson has admitting rights and operates through both hospitals.
